Kash and his mum Sarah have come a long way in 12 months. His premature birth resulted in them having a stay in Intensive Care along with some dire predictions as to his development. Sarah has overcome a lot and knows that Kash is her little miracle. This was a celebration of life and just what is possible.
The glitz & glamour, the very loud (and AMAZING) music, the endless dancing (there was even a belly dancer!) the face painting, the fantastic spread…. Kash’s 1st Birthday sure was impressive! What set the night up for a party was the terrific Arabic music by Louis Kattoura and everyone just kept dancing when the DJ kicked in. SO cool!

I get to photograph so many different families, lots of different colours and cultures, as they celebrate a special event, when they all come together. And that one thing that really matters shows up every time. Love is present.
