Catriya was a barista at the cafe downstairs to where Tyran, an Engineer, worked and it was Cat’s extra sweet mocha’s that did the trick, Tyran fell in love! Catriya’s first impression was that he was clearly super smart to be an engineer and Tyran’s first impression was that she was sweet and cute. Tyran asked Cat for her Facebook and they started dating, soon moving in together and not long after decided to buy a house and now have two dogs and a cat.
The proposal came late one evening after giving the electric scooters a run along The Strand and finding themselves at a lookout at Kissing Point. When Tyran popped the question, it was so dark that when presented with the ring box, Cat realized that it was upside down!
Wedding Day unfolded with smooth precision (yeah Cat is organised) and with a perfect Townsville winter day the ceremony setting could not have been more splendid.
There were tears and delight from the Bride & Groom as there was with their fam & friends. A love match made official.
What do you love most about each other?
C: I love his patience and calming nature. He is also very smart and gets along with my whole family. He settles me down when I get too hyper or worked up. I love his reactions when I spoil him. I love his sillyness and his jokes. I also love his determination to do his own side businesses from home.
T: I love her smile. She also always spoils me with presents, dinners and surprises even when it’s not my birthday. I love the cuddles and the way she makes me feel better when I’m feeling down by talking and reasoning. I love her determination and the way we think the same things.
What Does Marriage Mean To You?
Marriage to us is a bond between two people that work as a team because we are stronger together. It’s officially the moment we say we’re in it together for all things for the rest of our lives.
What was the main inspiration behind your wedding day?
We wanted our wedding day to be not only happy for us but also for the people we invited. The people we invited we felt have always been there for us and had the utmost support for our relationship and future. We wanted it to be bright and colourful signifying a happy day for everyone
How would you describe your day? How did you feel?
We felt relaxed, comfortable and at peace that the day had finally arrived. We felt the wedding was well organised and couldn’t have asked for things to be more perfect. We truly felt we had the chance to enjoy every moment without focusing on the logistics of the wedding because it was already organised.
What was your favourite part of the wedding day?
Our favourite part of the wedding day was our first look. It gave us comfort and time to relax before the big moment. We got to feel our love between just the two of us and to have some privacy after a week surrounded by friends and family was a great relief.
Were there any surprises or honourable mentions you’d like to talk about?
Well there was the surprise myself and the girls gave everyone by cutting my hair in the bathroom of the reception. There were no regrets and lots of laughter. Certainly a moment for us all to remember. MC Quindogg did a brilliant job and kept everyone laughing and relaxed for the evening which is exactly what we wanted for the reception and time for celebration! The speaches from our family’s where short but sweet and hilarious which we thought was perfect. Cbar the strand where so organised and relaxed and couldn’t have done a more perfect job. And of course our photographer and videographer where such lovely people and professional throughout the whole process from planning to the big day.
