Now that 2021 is wrapped up, everyone on the planet is banking on 2022 presenting a world no longer gripped by a pandemic. While I am blessed to be located in a part of the world that has not been subjected to lockdowns as has those of you in NSW & VIC, the impact on my industry has been across the country. Weddings cancelled and postponed, couples devastated often literally the week of their big day and vendors like myself having to deal with seeing their expected income disappear. The uncertainty for all has been crap to say the least.
AND I have also been so very fortunate to still have weddings go ahead, a few of them in the narrowest windows of time! Another notable mention for the year has how impressive my couples have been. Those that have had their plans upended, those that have stuck to their guns despite the anxiety and stress, those that have been forced to abandon a day that they had already invested heavily in. A wedding day is a Big Deal. It takes a lot and to see it thwarted is not bloody fair and those that did handled it with exquisite class.
This is traditionally a time for resolutions, and for good reason. The shifting of the calendar signals a fresh start and an opportunity to reimagine things, stand for something new that perhaps you’ve been scared to try. There is always the next level, a new and exciting (AKA confronting) goal, a determination to achieve….what are your dreams for 2022? Are you ready to back yourself? May this shiny New Year deliver to you all that you deserve and wish for 💯
These are a snap shot (excuse the pun) of 2021. The joy, the emotion, the commitment to another (favourite) human. There could be no better arena for someone with a camera obsession right? As I went through my 2021 weddings and reminisced, I was reminded of the power of love and how it is ultimately what has our lives be the great adventures that they are. I can’t bloody wait to do it all over again and even better!
